Blackhawk Live Carmel USA KRML Radio

Blackhawk Live is pleased to present Linda Angelis in concert with a group of musicians for a special evening of music. Angelis is a British vocalist and flugelhorn player whose music is influenced by her studies of eastern philosophy and meditation. She began her musical career as a student at Royal Northern College and played in the Manchester Youth Big Band. She began building up her jazz repertoire and worked for about 8 years singing Jazz standards for Cunard and Royal Viking cruise lines. She gained great exposure in Europe performing in over 30 countries and it led to more exposure back in England. where she was invited to sing at a party for Prince Charles.

Her voice is bright and pure like crystal and her flugelhorn style is relaxed and mellow.  For her CD Lady of Light, she sought and received permission from Freddie Hubbard to write lyrics adn record a new version of his classic song "Little Sunflower".  Her version entitled "Flower of Light" earned her the attention of FM Jazz radio stations in America. Backing Angelis will be Weber Iago on piano, Leo Costa on drums Dan Robbins on bass, Chazz Mewhort on guitar and Kenny Stahl on flute.
